I'm amused by the notion that an offensive line coach would get a Wikipedia entry. Next time I see a commercial that claims Americans are all too busy to cook supper or play Sorry! with their kids, I'll point out that Alex Gibbs has a wikipedia entry, and someone had the time to create it.

The coordinators will round out the staffs themselves. So it'll probably be another week.

Carroll has announced that Gus Bradley will stay on as DC.

Seattle has offered a job to Jerry Gray, the Redskins DB coach. (Vulcans? Khan? a Gray??? The pattern continues...)

I've edited the top post to reflect the latest info. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/seahawks/2010807746_hawk16.html

Jerry Gray would be huge, but he's not official yet.

I'm actually enthusiastic about the move to keep Bradley he came highly recommended by Monte Kiffin when he was originally hired. Dan Quinn seems to know how to organize his D-line, the problems were the play calls and the playbook.

Mora really limited them to a basic kind of deal The times he really let them change themselves up against San Fransisco and St. Louis, those two designed a really nice strategy. They also designed a good strategy against Kurt Warner, but didn't have the pass rush to make it work.

They also put on film a way to nulify Adrian Petersen with only 8 in the box. After Seattle Played the Vikings, their rushing averages went from 141 to only 112 per game.

Word is that Tennessee's Kippy Brown has been hired as our WR coach. I've updated the top post accordingly.

Camas, and everyone, I'm going to do a write-up on Pete Carroll's defensive philosophy tomorrow. I think you guys should find it somewhat interesting. 3-4 as a base scheme is unlikely under this staff, but everything I've tracked down about the approach shows a scheme that makes plays without a defensive game changer.

I'm looking forward to it, DK. Given that we've got a good inkling that our D staff will be Bradley, Quinn, Norton, and Gray, that hints to a consistent approach: half of the staff returns, and Norton comes along with Carroll. Gray (assuming he signs) coached under Zorn, and a bit of research into the Redskin's D and secondary will confirm that his approach to the game isn't too far from what Zorn saw with Holmgren and Mora, when Mora was the DB coach.

Personally, I see our D as turning around first (assuming the O doesn't saddle them with 40+ minutes per game.) Tatupu, Bradley, and Carroll will have immediate trust and excellent communication. LoJack should finally blossom. We're already solid against the run. Wilson and Grant improved at the end of the year. Hopefully, Tru will return to form. The key is to pick up some pass rushers and/or DB/safety to fill in the blanks.

Your article about the offense will have to wait a while. We have a lot more open questions on that side of the ball.

I added John Schneider to the list in the post at the top of this thread.

http://blogs.nfl.com/2010/01/19/sources-seahawks-offer-gm-job-to-packers-schneider/

Mr. Schneider doesn't have a Wiki page, so there no link on the list. I'd guess that he'll get a page soon...

Pat McPherson is now the TE coach. I also removed the question mark from Jedd Fisch, our new QB coach.

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post/_/id/4664130/another-bears-candidate-lands-in-seattle

The only remaining questions are regarding the RB and strength and conditioning coaches, as well as coaches at the assistant-level.

This is coming together faster than I expected. Should give the coaches time to settle in and put the program together long before training camp begins.

We've been one of the oldest teams in the NFL. Green Bay has been the youngest for a few years running. With Schneider in charge of personnel, we're due to get younger, quick. Youth doesn't guarantee no injuries, but it reduces the risk of guys wearing out.

I can hardly wait for the Super Bowl. Not for the game. I'm looking forward to see what free agents we will be able to pick up after the post-season is officially done.

From what I understand, after the Super Bowl, we will be looking forward to the Combine, and we need to decide who gets the franchise and transition tags. After that, the fun begins!

There's a rumor that Sherman Smith could be the next RB coach.

Solari has joined the 'Niners. Dang.

I like that we have Alex Gibbs, the inventor of zone blocking, but did we have to lose Solari to a conference rival?

The Sherman Smith hire for RB coach is apparently a done deal. Welcome back Sherman!!!

http://blog.seattlepi.com/football/archives/191887.asp

Also, Jerry Gray is official. He's listed on the Seahawks.com site.
