Nice!

So, the next big Seahawks decision, aside from what hotel to stay at for the Combine, is about franchise and transition tags.

Do the 'Hawks choose anybody? Burleson is the only player who comes to mind, and, as I understand it, that could be more expensive than a straight up negotiation.

Burleson would be way too expensive to FT but looks like they decided on Mare. I'm fine with that, a little expensive still but he was clutch for the rest of the season after being called out and I don't think there was really anyone better.

Also, the kicker is the one player on the team who doesn't really have to learn any new systems or work with a new coaching staff. He just does his thing. Makes sense to franchise the guy who's guaranteed to fit in.

I was thinking the same thing. A new coach can pretty much evaluate a kicker by looking at the stats, and if he's under 45 years old. After the new staff looked at Mare's numbers, they just needed to ask around to see if he's a good guy or a jerk.

A good guy who consistently hits field goals and can get touchbacks at will? Sign the check!

Just was looking at the away schedule and the Seahawks only have one Eastern time zone game next year...At TB. That is unusual. And the schedule looks very weak, but when you're a sucky team, playing a weak schedule really doesn't matter...
